Here is my final Report from Stitch from my Stash!

Carryover from November: $70.62
December budget: $25.00
Amount spent in December: $0.00
Amount left in the bank: $95.62

New Starts: Ornaments and Liz Almond's "Naomi Elizabeth" Black Work

WIPs and UFOs: one of 2 Noel's

Completed: Bound Quilt and finished "finished" Ornaments

Stash Used: random scraps of fabric for ornaments and floss remnants.

What I wanted and Didn't Buy: The Christmas Fabric Deal at my local quilting stores are Killing me! I have seen a lot of things I wanted but did not partake in. Instead I organized my fabric into a wonderful bookshelf my dear husband bought me so that I can truly see what I have. :) Cured the bug right away and inspired me to plan a few new creations.

December WIPocalypse and TurtleTrot Combined!

It's time for the final check-in for both the WIPocalypse SAL and the TurtleTrot SAL. Technically the WIPocalypse was on 12/6 but I decided to combine them together.

My original list for them were as follows with my progress, etc:
1.) Pinocchio - Wish Upon a Star: This was a new start this year so I ended up at this point when I put it away for this year.
Pinocchio - December SAL check in
I worked on this one a lot this fall and made some really great progress. I would estimate I am a little over 1/4 complete on this one.

2.) NOEL - This one is a finish. you can see it finished into an ornament in the upper right of the picture below. For some reason I cannot get it to rotate at all. The pic below captures all of the ornaments that I completed this year.
2014 Ornaments completed
3.) Santa and Westie Stocking - No progress at all

4.) ABC's of Family - No progress at all

5.) Flower Cards - I don't have a picture but there is only backstitching left to do on this one.

6.) The Lady and the Flag - This was a finish this year!

Completed and Framed
The Lady and the Flag - November 2014
7.) Dream Catcher - this was a total redesign from a stamped Lab Blanket kit into a counted project on AIDA. It was a relatively quick stitch for its size. It was finished in the fall and my FIL had it framed below:

Completed and Framed
Dreamcatcher Redesign - November 2014
8.) Snowman Ornaments - These need back stitching completed and are different than the ornaments pictured above. I should have them done by the end of this week.

9.) Nativity Set - Still need to completed Back Stitching on the camel and a wise man.

10 and 11.) Winter and Fall Mandala - This were so much fun to stitch. Here are some un-framed and the whole set framed for your enjoyment.

So I made a lot of progress on the goals I set for myself which I set for myself. I am planning on take part in the WIPocalypse next year and am determining if I will do the TurtleTrot soon.

There are still a few things that I need to complete before the end of the year so I better get back to stitching.

Happy Stitching!

TUSAL and DreamCatcher

It's that time to Check in with ORTs for this month. Check out DaffyCat's blog for more information.
The above pic is my monthly ORTs collected since the last check-in. The are a combination of quilting thread from the Table runner and some blocks, Autumn Mandala, Thanks Clip, and the Dream catcher project.

This is the jar that holds my cumulative Orts for the Year.

I also have made enough progress on the abbreviated Dream Catcher project. This project was originally was a stamped lap blanket kit from Herrschners. com. I started on it as it but it was very tough on my fingers so much so that I was punching holes in my fingers even with extra sharp needles. I decided to grid out the pattern and transfer it to some cream AIDA.

The only change that I have made from the original pattern is to add some half cross stitches in the feathers. Otherwise, it seems to be working delightfully well.

My plan is to work on this a little bit more and some baby blanket knitting. There will be a later post recapping feb goals and laying out some for March.

Happy stitching everyone!

2 Finishes to share

I had mentioned 2 post ago that I completed the Summer Mandala by Ink Circles but I had not gotten around to taking a picture of it until this past weekend.
Summer Mandala
Ink Circles
16ct AIDA, 2 over 1, suggested DMC
completed 11/29/2013

This weekend I spent my time working on a design for a co-workers daughter who is 12. She was running for student government this fall and came up with a powerpoint slide that had her name and words to describe herself on it. Her mother thought this was a wonderful example of her positive view of her self and wanted to reinforce it in whatever way she could. She asked me if I would stitch it up for her to hang in her room.

I used the many font books that I have in my stash to make the worlds different and then combined them all with a similar color palate that was a combination of WDW, Gentle arts, and DMC threads. I did blur out the girls name for her privacy. You will have to let me know what you think.

Happy stitching!

TUSAL and other updates!

This past week was definitely a productive one!

I have a picture of the framed birth announcement that I finished for my niece. :) My brother and SIL loved it.

Birth Announcement for my Niece
Dimensions Kit
14ct. AIDA and Floss provided

I also made some progress on "The Lady and the Flag"
"The Lady and The Flag"
Progress as of 10/6/2013
I decided to take her out of the frame for now. I decided to start some of the ornaments that I need to get done for the holiday season. I started the Snowman below for my nephew.

Snowman 2014 ornament
16ct. AIDA, DMC floss
"Ornaments Galore" Leisure arts book
My ORTs for the month are rather full, so much so that I needed to change the small jar I was using to a larger bowl. Check out DaffyCat's blog for information on TUSAL.

There is everything from the birth announcement, blankets, and "the Lady and Flag"

Finally, I made it 1/3 of the way through the baby blanket.

All in all....A very productive week!

TUSAL and more!

First and foremost, I need to post my TUSAL update. If you want to know more, check out DaffyCat's blog.
There are ORT's from The Birth Announcement, yarn from the blanket I started knitting, some dish rags and the Butterfly cushion that I put back in the hoop. (Which I forgot to take a picture of :) )

But I do have some knitting updates:

I added a few rows to the Scarf I am knitting for an aunt. I am really liking the easy pattern I made but I am hoping that I have enough yarn. :(

I also started a new project, Wristlets for myself. They are made with a silk blend from Uruguay. This is my first project knitting in the round with Double pointed needles so hopefully it goes well.
I am also adding a WIP page on here as well. Please check back for updates.

A finish, Progress, TUSAL, and a few other random things!

I figured an update is long overdue considering I was on a "stay cation" last week over the 4th of July holiday here in the US. My grandmother is in town so I didn't spend the whole time stitching but I did spend a good bit of time on things.

First thing first...I made it past the halfway point on the Butterfly cushion I am making for said grandmother. Here is where I was when I last updated:

And as of 7/6/2013, I have made it past halfway:

Butterfly Cushion
DMC Floss 3 X 2
28ct. Linen
I did have to take it off the hoop as my grandmother will be spending more time at my house this week and I do not want her to see it.

So I started and finished something else:
Heart - Brigitte DaDaux.com
Threadworx color 1005 "Cherries"
30 ct. Lugana 2x2

It was very easy and quite fun to stitch. I also started a new birth announcement kit for a niece that is on the way:

There wasn't really amy part of the stitching to show as it was only 33 stitches last night but I will be working fast and furious on this until it is complete.

I also spent some time working on some unfinished sewing projects as well. I started making quilted coasters and am moving right along
4 coaster set
Moda "Sassy" charm square pack
Finally, I have my TUSAL progress:

The majority of the threads from this month are from the butterfly cushion and the ends from the quilted coasters. :) You can see other's progress at Daffycat's Blog.

Happy Stitching everyone !!

June TUSAL and progress

First and foremost, I need to show my ORTs from TUSAL. Check out Daffycat's blog for more information.

You can see from the color variations I have been working on 3 different projects since the last ORT check-in. The bottom layer is the Spring Mandala from Ink Circles, the middle layer is "The Lady and the Flag" from Miribilia, and the top (all black thread) is the from the Butterfly Cushion that was in the April 2013 issue of the The Cross Stitcher Magazine. My ORTs for the year can be found below:

Next up is my progress on "The Lady and the Flag." This was my progress as of my last post:
"The Lady and the Flag" progress as of 5/30/2013

"The Lady and the Flag" progress as of 6/9/2013

I decided to remove her from the hoop as I was getting board with working on that. I then put in the fabric for the "The Butterfly"cushion from the April 2013 Issue of The CrossStitcher magazine. I will post a pic of this one as soon as I get a chance.

Finally, I have spent some time sewing and have a few things to show:
Receiving Blanket - completed 6/3/2013

Receiving Blanket - completed 6/3/2013

Fleece cover for Chair - completed 6/4/2013

Coasters - completed 6/3/2013 - Sassy by Moda  5"x5" squares and black backing fabric
I hope to post more progress soon. Happy stitching!

Late TUSAL and a Finish

So I am 2 days late in my TUSAL but here is my ORT jar for the year thus far:
My small Bell jars were too small to contain the ORTs so I needed to get a larger jar. If you want to see who else has posted their ORTs check out DaffyCat's blog. Most of the threads from this month are for the Spring Mandala by Ink Circles. I hope to have a photo of it tonight.

I also received "Craft Street" back from the frame shop this weekend.

It was extraordinarily difficult to find a mat that fit with this one, but after an hour or so I did. I really love this one and it hangs over my mantle in my family room.

IHSW, Late TUSAL, Crochet completes, etc.

I am going to begin this post with my TUSAL update 12 days late. Better late than never.

I figured that it had been so long since I updated that I would post this at the end of IHSW. If you look closely at my ORT's you will see the bottom layers are from Sidney the Penguin which was completed at the end of march. The next layers are from 'The Lady and the Flag". The progress of this one can be seen in the photos below:
The last progress pic that was posted

I made some more progress on here in the past week or so and worked sparingly on her during IHSW.
Progress - 4/22/2013
As you can see I added the some of the red and white of the flag and completed more of the dress. IHSW was also the time that my in-laws were in town so I wanted to try something new as well. (My mother in law is a crafter as well so this was expected)

Spring Mandala - Ink Circles designs - 2 over 1 18ct. white Aida
I have been chomping at the bit to start this set of Mandala's from Ink Circles.  I began this patter on Saturday on some 32 ct. linen and hated how it looked. I started on the 18ct. Aida and loved it. I cannot wait to see how it (and the other 3 seasons) come out.

I am also going to put some more dishcloths that I finished crocheting on my finishes page.

Happy stitching!
