What I wanted and Didn't Buy: The Christmas Fabric Deal at my local quilting stores are Killing me! I have seen a lot of things I wanted but did not partake in. The Beading may kill me
This past weekend was IHSW but was also when my dear grandmother was visiting. I didn't complete as much as I wanted to but I did finish the back stitching on "The Lady and the Flag" and started beading her myself.
For those of you beading veterans...I think I should have started on a smaller or maybe less intensive project. I love how the beads look but they are time consuming. I have also found that in some long sets of beads in a row I need to drop one due to space. I am not sure if the linen size was smaller than originally designed as the pattern and fabric were all bought for me.
Happy stitching!

TUSAL and Progress Pics - April 2014
I have some progress to show on 2 projects. First, the Winter mandala. I have completed the black outline and started some of the colors.
I also started a new knitting project. I am using the seed stitch scarf pattern found here. The picture below shows the first color sitting on a scrap piece of tan colored linen. The color is vandyke brown and is Venezia Yarn from Cascade yarns.
I remembered to take a picture of the ORTs from my sewing endeavors. These scraps are the ones that I throw away and do not put in my scrap bins. They are mainly coming from the placemats I made and the patriotic table runner. I need to remember to take a picture of my cross stitching ORTs.

TUSAL and DreamCatcher
It's that time to Check in with ORTs for this month. Check out DaffyCat's blog for more information.
The only change that I have made from the original pattern is to add some half cross stitches in the feathers. Otherwise, it seems to be working delightfully well.
My plan is to work on this a little bit more and some baby blanket knitting. There will be a later post recapping feb goals and laying out some for March.
Happy stitching everyone!
The above pic is my monthly ORTs collected since the last check-in. The are a combination of quilting thread from the Table runner and some blocks, Autumn Mandala, Thanks Clip, and the Dream catcher project.
This is the jar that holds my cumulative Orts for the Year.
I also have made enough progress on the abbreviated Dream Catcher project. This project was originally was a stamped lap blanket kit from Herrschners. com. I started on it as it but it was very tough on my fingers so much so that I was punching holes in my fingers even with extra sharp needles. I decided to grid out the pattern and transfer it to some cream AIDA.
My plan is to work on this a little bit more and some baby blanket knitting. There will be a later post recapping feb goals and laying out some for March.
Happy stitching everyone!

TUSAL #2 (late again) & Turtle Trot Check-in
I realized late yesterday that I had totally missed the TUSAL post on 1/30/2014. I decided to take a pic of my Jar on 2/9/2014. If you are wondering about the TUSAL, check out the button on the right side of my blog or click here.
The bulk of the ORTs in the jar are from the Autumn Mandala which coincides nicely with the Turtle Trot Check - In. The only project that I have had time to work on was the Autumn Mandala.
My previous check-in on it was the following:
I have worked heavily on it in between some travel for work and feeling under the weather to get this far:
I also found time to start and finish a dish rag:

TUSAL and other updates!
This past week was definitely a productive one!
I have a picture of the framed birth announcement that I finished for my niece. :) My brother and SIL loved it.
I also made some progress on "The Lady and the Flag"
I decided to take her out of the frame for now. I decided to start some of the ornaments that I need to get done for the holiday season. I started the Snowman below for my nephew.
My ORTs for the month are rather full, so much so that I needed to change the small jar I was using to a larger bowl. Check out DaffyCat's blog for information on TUSAL.
