WIPocalypse and other updates

So this posting is a little late...but the every day job I have has been keeping me busy the last few days.
My last post recorded my first WIP slayed of 2013...Craft Street from "Just Cross Stitch" Magazine.
I also completed to 10 of 12 Nativity Scene figures from a Dimensions Kit that was designed by Debbie Kooler.

Finally, I have been working on 2 relatively new projects:

4 Day IHSW Summary and first complete WIP of 2013

This weekend was my first participation in the International Hermit and Stitching Weekend! It was a great first weekend as I had 4 days due to Monday being a holiday at work. I realized one major thing about myself this weekend...I abhor Backstitching unless it is done as I am stitching a project. So a weekend of dedicated stitching time was a great way to get over the hump and force myself to get some done.

So here are some pictures to summarize what was completed:
First complete WIP of 2013 :) Not to bad for Mid-February. There are some more close up pictures below:

Now all that is left is to take it to the framers to get finished.

I also worked on Backstitching 10 out of 12 pieces of a Nativity Scene Kit. I will be honest, I got bored after 10. I hope I can get them completed in the next week. There are some before and after Pics below:

Finally, I decided to start a new project after I got really bored with the backstitching..

"The Lady of the Flag" (#62) by Mirabilia designs. It is 2 over 2 on 36 count Linen.

By the end of the weekend, I had the following ORT's collected:
As you can see, most of the threads are the dark grey and black of the backstitch on the nativity pieces.

New start and IHSW

This past weekend I traveled to my Grandmother's house for a visit and realized that all of my WIP's were not in a state to pack...so I started something new :).

MOD Coasters - Jennifer Rodriguez
From "Cross Stitch and Needlework" - July 2012
14ct. plastic canvas, 2 over 1
There was not a lot of time to stitch but I at least got a good start.

I also took some pics of finished projects that are hanging in my grandmother's house and a blanket that I knit her. They can be found on the finished projects pages of this blog.

I also took a picture of my ORT's from January and February as I just learned what that term meant.

I have also signed up for the IHSW this weekend. The link can be found at the right of this post. My plan is to finish the Florals and Craft street at the bare minimum. There is a distinct chance that I will finish them prior to the weekend but they are my goal. This weekend is even better because I am off on Monday and have a whole extra day to stitch.
