4 Day IHSW Summary and first complete WIP of 2013

This weekend was my first participation in the International Hermit and Stitching Weekend! It was a great first weekend as I had 4 days due to Monday being a holiday at work. I realized one major thing about myself this weekend...I abhor Backstitching unless it is done as I am stitching a project. So a weekend of dedicated stitching time was a great way to get over the hump and force myself to get some done.

So here are some pictures to summarize what was completed:
First complete WIP of 2013 :) Not to bad for Mid-February. There are some more close up pictures below:

Now all that is left is to take it to the framers to get finished.

I also worked on Backstitching 10 out of 12 pieces of a Nativity Scene Kit. I will be honest, I got bored after 10. I hope I can get them completed in the next week. There are some before and after Pics below:

Finally, I decided to start a new project after I got really bored with the backstitching..

"The Lady of the Flag" (#62) by Mirabilia designs. It is 2 over 2 on 36 count Linen.

By the end of the weekend, I had the following ORT's collected:
As you can see, most of the threads are the dark grey and black of the backstitch on the nativity pieces.

You certainly got a lot of stitching done! I just love your storefront piece! It's gorgeous! And all that backstitching you did certainly gives your pieces a finished look. Well done!

You really made progress with the backstitching! I love the street/storefronts - that is a real accomplishment, I was ogling that each month in the magazine to see the latest installment! Beautiful!
